And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?

Dia namaly Labana ka nanao tamin' i Jakoba hoe: Ireo zazavavy ireo dia zanako-vavy ary ireo zazalahy ireo dia zanako-lahy; ary ireo ondry aman' osy ireo dia ondry aman' osiko; ary izao rehetra hitanao izao dia ahy avokoa; ary ahoana no hataoko anio amin' ireto zanako-vavy, na amin' ny zanany naterany?

Dia namaly Labana ka nanao tamin' i Jakoba hoe: Ireo zazavavy ireo, dia zanako vavy, ireo zaza ireo dia zanako; ireo biby fiompy ireo, dia biby fiompiko, ary izao hitanao rehetra izao, dia ahy avokoa. Ka inona no hataoko anio amin' ireto zanako vavy ireto, amin' izy ireo sy amin' ny zanany naterany?

Laban répondit ainsi à Jacob : Ces filles sont mes filles, ces enfants sont mes enfants, ce bétail est mon bétail, tout ce que tu vois est à moi. Mais que pourrais-je faire aujourd' hui à mes filles que voici et aux enfants qu' elles ont mis au monde ?
