Toko:

And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.

Ary ny mpanjaka nifoha raha mbola alina ka niteny tamin' ny mpanompony hoe: Aoka hambarako aminareo ange izao ataon' ny Syriana amintsika izao e! Fantany fa mosarena isika, ka dia niala tamin' ny toby izy mba hanotrika any an-tsaha ka nanao hoe: Raha mivoaka avy any an-tanàna izy dia hataontsika sambo-belona, ary dia hidirantsika ny tanàna.

Nifoha mbola alina ny mpanjaka, dia nilaza tamin' ny mpanompony hoe: Tiako hambara aminareo izay ataon' ny Siriana amintsika. Fantany fa mosarena isika, ka niala tamin' ny tobiny izy; niery any an-tsaha any, sy nifampilaza hoe: Rahefa tafavoaka ny tanàna ireny, dia hataontsika sambo-belona, ka hidirantsika ny tanàna.

Le roi se leva de nuit et dit à ses officiers : "Je vais vous expliquer ce que les Araméens nous ont fait. Comme ils savent que nous sommes affamés, ils ont quitté le camp pour se cacher dans la campagne en se disant : ils sortiront de la ville, nous les prendrons vivants et nous entrerons dans la ville."
