Now when all the captains of the forces which were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;

Nony nandre ry zareo mpifehy miaramila rehetra any ambanivohitra mbamin' ireo olom-peheziny, fa hoe: Godoliasa zanak' i Ahikama no natsangan' ny mpanjakan' i Babilona ho governora amin' ny tany, sy nametrahany ny lehilahy, ny zaza amam-behivavy ary ny mahantra amin' ny tany, tsy nentin-ko babo any Babilona,

Tous les officiers de l' armée qui, avec leurs hommes, étaient dans la campagne, apprirent que le roi de Babylone avait institué Godolias, fils d' Ahiqam, comme gouverneur du pays et lui avait confié hommes, femmes et enfants, et ceux du petit peuple qui n' avaient pas été déportés à Babylone.
