The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.

Jehovah Andriamanitsika nanao fanekena tamintsika tany Horeba;

Yahvé notre Dieu a conclu avec nous une alliance à l' Horeb.

Deo / Dt 5:3

The Lord made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.

Ce n' est pas avec nos pères que Yahvé a conclu cette alliance mais avec nous, nous-mêmes qui sommes ici aujourd' hui tous vivants.

The Lord talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,

Sur la montagne, au milieu du feu, Yahvé vous a parlé face à face,

(I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to shew you the word of the Lord: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,

I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

Tu ne te prosterneras pas devant ces dieux ni ne les serviras. Car moi, Yahvé, ton Dieu, je suis un Dieu jaloux, qui punis la faute des pères sur les enfants, les petits-enfants et les arrière-petits-enfants, pour ceux qui me haïssent,

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

" Tu ne prononceras pas le nom de Yahvé ton Dieu à faux, car Yahvé ne laisse pas impuni celui qui prononce son nom à faux.

Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.

" Observe le jour du sabbat pour le sanctifier, comme te l' a commandé Yahvé, ton Dieu.

Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:

mais le septième jour est un sabbat pour Yahvé ton Dieu. Tu n' y feras aucun ouvrage, toi, ni ton fils, ni ta fille, ni ton serviteur, ni ta servante, ni ton b oeuf, ni ton âne ni aucune de tes bêtes, ni l'étranger qui est dans tes portes. Ainsi, comme toi-même, ton serviteur et ta servante pourront se reposer.

And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

Ary tsarovy fa andevo tany amin' ny tany Egypta ianao, ka tanana mahery sy sandry nahinjitra no nitondran' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao nivoaka avy tany; izany no nandidian' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao hitandrina ny andro Sabata.

Tsarovy fa efa andevo tany amin' ny tany Ejipta hianao, ary tànana mahery sy sandry ahinjitra no nitondran' ny Tompo Andriamanitrao anao nivoaka avy tany: koa izany no nandidian' ny Tompo Andriamanitrao anao hitandrina ny andro sabata.

Tu te souviendras que tu as été en servitude au pays d'Égypte et que Yahvé ton Dieu t' en a fait sortir d' une main forte et d' un bras étendu ; c' est pourquoi Yahvé ton Dieu t' a commandé de garder le jour du sabbat.

Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Manajà ny rainao sy ny reninao, araka izay nandidian' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao, mba ho maro andro ianao, ary mba hahita soa any amin' ny tany izay omen' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ho anao.

Manajà ny ray aman-dreninao, araka ny nandidian' ny Tompo Andriamanitrao anao, mba ho halavaina ny andronao sy ho sambatra any amin' ny tany omen' ny Tompo Andriamanitrao anao.

" Honore ton père et ta mère, comme te l' a commandé Yahvé ton Dieu, afin que se prolongent tes jours et que tu sois heureux sur la terre que Yahvé ton Dieu te donne.

Thou shalt not kill.

Aza mamono olona. Ary aza mijangajanga. Ary aza mangalatra. Ary aza mety ho vavolombelona mandainga hanameloka ny namanao.

Neither shalt thou commit adultery.

Ary aza mitsiriritra ny vadin' ny namanao; ary aza mitsiriritra ny tranon' ny namanao, na ny taniny, na ny ankizilahiny, na ny ankizivaviny, na ny ombiny, na ny borikiny, na izay mety ho an' ny namanao akory aza.

Aza mitsiriritra ny vadin' ny namanao. Aza mitsiriritra ny tranon' ny namanao, na ny taniny, na ny ankizilahiny, na ny ankizivaviny, na ny ombiny, na ny ampondrany, na izay mety ho an' ny namanao.

" Tu ne commettras pas l' adultère.

Deo / Dt 5:19

Neither shalt thou steal.

Ireo teny ireo no nolazain' i Jehovah tamin' ny feo mahery tao amin' ny afo sy ny rahona ary ny aizim-pito, raha nivory tany an-tendrombohitra ianareo, ka dia tsy nampiany intsony; ary nosoratany tamin' ny vato fisaka roa ireo ka natolony ahy.

Ireo no teny nolazain' ny Tompo tamin' ny fiangonanareo rehetra tamin' ny feo mahery, tany an-tendrombohitra, tao anatin' ny afo sy ny rahona, ary ny aizim-pito, ka tsy nampiany na inona na inona. Nosoratany tamin' ny takelaka vato roa natolony ahy ireo.

" Tu ne voleras pas.

Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Ary rehefa renareo ny feo avy tao amin' ny aizina, raha nirehitra afo ny tendrombohitra, dia nanatona ahy ianareo, dia ny loham-pirenenareo rehetra sy ny loholonareo,

Nanatona ahy hianareo, rahefa nandre ny feo avy teo amin' ny aizina, raha nirehitra afo daholo ny tendrombohitra, dia ny filohan' ny fokonareo rehetra sy ny loholonareo, ka hoy hianareo:

" Tu ne porteras pas de faux témoignage contre ton prochain.

Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour' s wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour' s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour' s.

ka hoy ianareo: Indro, efa nampahitain' i Jehovah Andriamanitsika ny voninahiny sy ny fahalehibiazany isika, ary efa rentsika ny feony avy tao amin' ny afo; koa efa hitantsika androany fa Andriamanitra miteny amin' ny olona, nefa velona ihany izy.

Indro Iaveh Andriamanitsika efa naneho ny voninahitra amam-pahalehibeazany tamintsika, ary isika efa nandre ny feony avy tao anatin' ny afo; koa hitantsika androany Andriamanitra miteny amin' ny olombelona, ary ny olombelona dia mbola velona.

" Tu ne convoiteras pas la femme de ton prochain, tu ne désireras ni sa maison, ni son champ, ni son serviteur ou sa servante, ni son b oeuf ou son âne : rien de ce qui est à ton prochain. "

Deo / Dt 5:22

These words the Lord spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.

Koa ankehitriny, nahoana no ho faty izahay? fa handevona anay io afo lehibe io; raha mbola mandre ny feon' i Jehovah Andriamanitsika indray izahay, dia ho faty.

Telles sont les paroles que vous adressa Yahvé quand vous étiez tous assemblés sur la montagne. Il vous parla du milieu du feu, dans la nuée et les ténèbres, d' une voix forte. Il n' y ajouta rien et les écrivit sur deux tables de pierre qu' il me donna.

And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;

Fa iza moa tamin' ny nofo rehetra no efa nandre ny feon' Andriamanitra velona niteny tao afovoan' ny afo, tahaka antsika, ka velona ihany?

Satria, tamin' izao nofo rehetra izao, zovy moa no efa nandre ny feon' Andriamanitra velona, niteny tao afovoan' ny afo, tahaka antsika, nefa mbola velona ihany?

Or, lorsque vous eûtes entendu cette voix sortir des ténèbres, tandis que la montagne était en feu, vous tous, chefs de tribus et anciens, vous vîntes à moi

And ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.

Manatòna ianao, ka mihainoa izay rehetra holazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitsika; ary ianao no aoka hilaza aminay izay rehetra holazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitsika aminao, dia hohenoinay ka harahinay izany.

Koa hianao re no aoka hanatona ary hihaino izay rehetra holazain' ny Tompo Andriamanitsika, dia hianao no hilaza aminay izay rehetra holazain' ny Tompo Andriamanitsika aminao, ka hohenoinay sy harahinay izany.

et vous me dîtes : " Voici que Yahvé notre Dieu nous a montré sa gloire et sa grandeur, et que nous avons entendu sa voix du milieu du feu. Nous avons vu aujourd' hui que Dieu peut parler à l' homme, et l' homme rester en vie.

Deo / Dt 5:25

Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, then we shall die.

Ary Jehovah nandre ny teninareo, raha niteny tamiko ianareo, ka hoy Izy tamiko: Efa reko ny tenin' ireo olona ireo, izay nolazainy taminao, ka tsara izay rehetra nolazainy.

Ren' ny Tompo teo am-pitenenanareo tamiko ny teninareo, ka hoy Iaveh tamiko: Efa reko ny teny nolazain' io vahoaka io taminao, ka tsara avokoa ny voalazany.

Et maintenant, pourquoi devrions-nous mourir ? Car ce grand feu pourrait nous dévorer si nous continuons à écouter la voix de Yahvé notre Dieu, et nous pourrions mourir.

For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?

Go thou near, and hear all that the Lord our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the Lord our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.

Mandehana, ka lazao aminy hoe: Miverena any an-dainareo ianareo.

Mandehana lazao amin' izy ireo hoe: Miverena any an-dainareo.

Toi, approche pour entendre tout ce que dira Yahvé notre Dieu, puis tu nous répéteras ce que Yahvé notre Dieu t' aura dit ; nous l'écouterons et le mettrons en pratique. "

And the Lord heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the Lord said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.

Fa ianao kosa dia mijanòna eto anilako, ka holazaiko aminao ny lalàna rehetra sy ny didy ary ny fitsipika, izay hampianarinao azy mba harahiny any amin' ny tany izay omeko azy ho lovany.

Yahvé entendit ce que vous disiez et il me dit : " J' ai entendu les paroles de ce peuple. Tout ce qu' ils t' ont dit est bien.

O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

Koa tandremo mba hanao araka izay efa nandidian' i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo anareo; aza mivily, na ho amin' ny ankavanana, na ho amin' ny ankavia;

Koa mitandrema, mba hanatanteraka izay nandidian' ny Tompo Andriamanitrareo anareo; aza mivily na ho amin' ny ankavanana na ho amin' ny ankavia;

Ah ! si leur coeur pouvait toujours être ainsi, pour me craindre et garder mes commandements en sorte qu' ils soient heureux à jamais, eux et leurs fils.

Go say to them, Get you into your tents again.

fa ny lalana rehetra izay nandidian' i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo anareo no halehanareo, mba ho velona ianareo ka hahita soa, ary ho maro andro any amin' ny tany izay holovanareo.

fa amin' ny zavatra rehetra mizora amin' ny làlana nandidian' ny Tompo Andriamanitrareo anareo, mba ho velona hianareo, ka ho sambatra sy ho lava andro any amin' ny tany hanananareo.

Va leur dire : "Retournez à vos tentes. "

Deo / Dt 5:31

But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

Mais toi, tu te tiendras ici auprès de moi, je te dirai tous les commandements, les lois et les coutumes que tu leur enseigneras et qu' ils mettront en pratique dans le pays que je leur donne en possession. "

Deo / Dt 5:32

Ye shall observe to do therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

Gardez et mettez en pratique ! Ainsi vous l' a ordonné Yahvé votre Dieu. Ne vous écartez ni à droite ni à gauche.

Deo / Dt 5:33

Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

Vous suivrez tout le chemin que Yahvé votre Dieu vous a tracé, alors vous vivrez, vous aurez bonheur et longue vie dans le pays dont vous allez prendre possession.
