Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

et suivez la voie de l' amour, à l' exemple du Christ qui vous a aimés et s' est livré pour nous, s' offrant à Dieu en sacrifice d' agréable odeur.

Efe / Ef 5:3

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

Quant à la fornication, à l' impureté sous toutes ses formes, ou encore à la cupidité, que leurs noms ne soient même pas prononcés parmi vous : c' est ce qui sied à des saints.

Efe / Ef 5:4

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

na fahavetavetana, na resaka fahadalana, na voso-dratsy, izay tsy tokony hatao, fa aleo misaotra.

Fadio ny teny vetaveta, resaka valavala, voso-dratsy, mbamin' ny teny tsy mendrika rehetra, fa aleo aza manao teny fisaorana.

De même pour les grossièretés, les inepties, les facéties : tout cela ne convient guère ; faites entendre plutôt des actions de grâces.

Efe / Ef 5:5

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Car, sachez-le bien, ni le fornicateur, ni le débauché, ni le cupide - qui est un idolâtre - n' ont droit à l' héritage dans le Royaume du Christ et de Dieu.

Efe / Ef 5:6

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Aza mety hofitahin' olona amin' ny teny foana ianareo; fa izany zavatra izany no mahatonga ny fahatezeran' Andriamanitra amin' ny zanaky ny tsi-fanarahana.

Que nul ne vous abuse par de vaines raisons : ce sont bien de tels désordres qui attirent la colère de Dieu sur ceux qui lui résistent.

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

et ne prenez aucune part aux oeuvres stériles des ténèbres, dénoncez-les plutôt.

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

Certes, ce que ces gens-là font en cachette, on a honte même de le dire ;

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

hararaoty ny fotoana, fa ratsy izao andro izao.

qui tirent bon parti de la période présente ; car nos temps sont mauvais ;

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Ary noho izany dia aza manao adaladala, fa aoka ho fantatrareo izay sitrapon' ny Tompo.

Koa aza manaonao foana, fa fantaro aloha izay sitra-pon' ny Tompo.

ne vous montrez donc pas inconsidérés, mais sachez voir quelle est la volonté du Seigneur.

Efe / Ef 5:18

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Ary aza ho mamon-divay ianareo, fa amin' izany dia misy fanaranam-po amin' ny ratsy, fa aoka hofenoina ny Fanahy,

Aza mimamo divay, satria loharanom-pahalotoana izany; fa mifenoa Fanahy masina hianareo.

Ne vous enivrez pas de vin : on n' y trouve que libertinage ; mais cherchez dans l' Esprit votre plénitude.

Efe / Ef 5:19

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

ka mifampilazà amin' ny salamo sy ny fihirana ary ny tonon-kiram-panahy, dia mihira sy mikalo ao am-ponareo ho an' ny Tompo,

Salamo sy hira aman-tononkira masina no ifampiresaho; ary hira fiderana no kaloy ao am-ponareo ho voninahitry ny Tompo.

Récitez entre vous des psaumes, des hymnes et des cantiques inspirés ; chantez et célébrez le Seigneur de tout votre coeur.

Efe / Ef 5:20

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

En tout temps et à tout propos, rendez grâces à Dieu le Père, au nom de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ.

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

sady mifanaiky amin' ny fahatahorana an' i Kristy,

Ary mahaiza mifanoa amim-pahatahorana ny Kristy.

Soyez soumis les uns aux autres dans la crainte du Christ.

Efe / Ef 5:22

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Hianareo vehivavy, maneke ny vadinareo tahaka ny anekena ny Tompo.

Hianareo vehivavy, maneke ny vadinareo, toy ny anekena ny Tompo;

Que les femmes le soient à leurs maris comme au Seigneur :

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Fa ny lahy no lohan' ny vavy, dia tahaka an' i Kristy koa no Lohan' ny fiangonana; ary Izy no mpamonjy ny tena.

en effet, le mari est chef de sa femme, comme le Christ est chef de l'Église, lui le sauveur du Corps ;

Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Hianareo lehilahy, tiava ny vadinareo, toy ny nitiavan' ny Kristy ny Eglizy, sy nahafoizana tena ho azy,

Maris, aimez vos femmes comme le Christ a aimé l'Église : il s' est livré pour elle,

Efe / Ef 5:26

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

mba hanamasina azy rahefa nodioviny tamin' ny fanasana amin' ny rano sy ny teny izy,

afin de la sanctifier en la purifiant par le bain d' eau qu' une parole accompagne ;

Efe / Ef 5:27

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

car il voulait se la présenter à lui-même toute resplendissante, sans tache ni ride ni rien de tel, mais sainte et immaculée.

Efe / Ef 5:28

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Dia tahaka izany koa, ny lehilahy tokony ho tia ny vadiny tahaka ny tenany ihany. Izay tia ny vadiny dia tia ny tenany.

Toy izany koa no tsy maintsy hitiavan' ny lehilahy ny vadiny, izay tenany ihany; koa izay tia ny vadiny dia tia ny tenany.

De la même façon les maris doivent aimer leurs femmes comme leurs propres corps. Aimer sa femme c' est s' aimer soi-même.

Efe / Ef 5:29

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

Fa tsy mba nisy olona tsy tia ny nofony, fa mamelona sy mitaiza azy, dia tahaka an' i Kristy amin' ny fiangonana;

Ny olona tsy misy mankahala ny nofony, fa mamelona sy miahy azy, toy ny ataon' ny Kristy amin' ny Eglizy,

Car nul n' a jamais haï sa propre chair ; on la nourrit au contraire et on en prend bien soin. C' est justement ce que le Christ fait pour l'Église :

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

ne sommes-nous pas les membres de son Corps ?

Efe / Ef 5:31

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Ary noho izany ny lehilahy dia handao ny rainy sy ny reniny ka hiray amin' ny vadiny, ary dia ho nofo iray ihany izy roroa (Gen. 2. 24).

Noho izany, handao ny ray aman-dreniny ny lehilahy, ka hikambana amin' ny vadiny, dia ho nofo iray ihany izy roroa.

Voici donc que l' homme quittera son père et sa mère pour s' attacher à sa femme, et les deux ne feront qu' une seule chair :

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Zava-miafina lehibe izany; fa milaza ny amin' i Kristy sy ny fiangonana aho.

Misy zava-miafina lehibe amin' io, dia mankamin' izy Kristy sy ny Eglizy no lazaiko.

ce mystère est de grande portée ; je veux dire qu' il s' applique au Christ et à l'Église.

Efe / Ef 5:33

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Na dia izany aza, samia tia ny vadiny tahaka ny tenany ianareo lehilahy rehetra, ary aoka kosa ny vavy hanaja ny lahy.

Fa izao: samia hianareo lehilahy tia ny vadiny tahaka ny tenany; ary aoka ny vehivavy hanaja ny vadiny.

Bref, en ce qui vous concerne, que chacun aime sa femme comme soi-même, et que la femme révère son mari.
